Doris Day is settling in to our gang! She seems to be wanting to be around us, which is super great. She loves to lay in front of the fire, on her back with her legs in the air. It is so amazing to see this dog, learn and accept its okay to be comfortable in the house!
She's also been having free range of the house, since we had our little laundry room incident! She hasn't had any accidents in the house, which is great! She growls if she has to go potty. She is doing so well. She's been eating more which is great because she needs to put a little weight on! She got some pot roast and a smoked bone from all the best pets!
She is such a doll. We have a flight of stairs that she has to get down to get outside, and she is good going down but coming up towards the end of the night, she gets tired! So we carry her up the stairs! She wags her tail when you carry her. It is the sweetest thing. She has a smile on her face when we do that... I can't even begin to explain how this makes me feel. She's starting to lay on the beds more, realizing its okay. She's been sleeping in our room with us, and the rest of the family! :)
It's so nice to see her flourish in our home. I am so happy to have taken her in and give her a second chance at her life! We started her medications today for hypothyroidism :) she seems to be doing well and no negative changes so hopefully that will keep happening!
If you've ever considered fostering, please do. It's one of the most rewarding things we have done. It's amazing to give the gift of a second chance to an innocent loving naive dog :)
